TOPIC 5 Flashcards
- N. Mylohyoideus
Nr 1. Easiest to find
Running ventrally on the mandible
Branches of the N. alveolaris inferior coming from the N.mandibularis (V3)
- N.Hypoglossus
Brachiocephalicus m, go under, behind omotransversarius and brachiocephalic.
Transect cleidocervicalis
A thick nerve
Motor nerve XII
Foramen: Foramen hypoglossus
Runs with A.lingualis: Divide into deep + superf as it enters the tounge
Innervates instrinsic and extrinsic toung muscles
Running between the level of the median raphe and the median margin of the mandible.
N. Alveolaris inferior
Location: Passes inbetween the median and lateral pterygiod muscle
Branches of N.mandibularis (V3)
Gives of N. mylohyoideus (motor nerve)
Foramen: Foramen mandibularis - alveolar chanel - Exits foramina mentalia
N. Lingualis
Branches of N.mandibularis (V3)
Leaves the mandibular nerve by stylohyoid bone
Crosses medialy on the mylohyoid muscle
Gives of: N.sublingualis
Devides into superf & deep branch in the tongue
mm. Pterigoidei
Lateral:
O: Processus Pterigoidea of sphenoid bone
I: Medial surface of mandible and thr condylar process
A: Raises, pushes and draws the mandible forward
Medial:
O: Same as lateral + pterigoid bone and peripendicular plate
I: Medial surface of the mandible
A: Raises mandible
N. mandibularis (V3)
Sensory and motor nerve
Foramen: Foramen Ovale
Gives of 2 branches before deviding intonits terminal branches
- N. Autuculotemporal nerve - Transverse facial
- N. Buccalis
Terminal branches
- N. alveolaris inferior -> N.Mylohyoideus - N.mentalia
- N. lingualis -> N.Sublingualis
