Topic 5 - 5.5 - Titrations Flashcards
What is a standard solution?
It is a solution of accuratley known concentration.
What is the use of a pipette filler?
To fill the pipette with accurate drops of solutions.
What is the use of a conical flask?
To contain liquid from the pipette
Name all of the apparatus used in a titration experiment
- Pipette
- Pipette filler
- Conical Flask
- Burette
What is the use of a burette?
To add small, measured volume of one reactant to the other reactant in the conical flask.
What is the use of a pipette?
To accurately measure a certain volume of acid or alkali
What is a titration experiment used for?
A titration experiment is used to accurately measure the volume of substances that react in chemical reactions. It is commonly used in neutralisation reactions.
What does it mean when the result are referred to as “concordant”
They are 0.2cm cubed apart
