What does flight of ideas describe?
Fast-flowing pressured speech, each sentence conveys a different message, but all have discernible links between them
What does knights move describe?
Each sentence conveys different ideas with no discernible links between them- completely random and illogical
What does Circumstantiality describe?
Patient cannot answer a question without giving excessive and unnecessary detail but eventually return to answer the question
What does clang associations describe?
Ideas are related to each other only by the fact they sound similar or rhyme.
What does Echolalia describe?
The repetition of someone else’s speech, including the question that was asked.
What does word salad describe?
Completely incoherent speech where real words are strung together into nonsense sentences.
What does Neologisms describe?
New word formations, which might include the combining of two words.
What does Perseveration describe?
Patients repeat a phrase or word despite moving on from the initial question
