  • Pt Positioning - back against bucky
  • Immobilisation - comfortable against bucky
  • Safety - gonad shielding
  • Marker - lateral to anatomy
  • SID - 100
  • CR - T6-T7
  • Tube Tilt - 0
  • Collimation - M-L midclavicular line. S-I just above shoulders and collimate less the height of image plate
  • kV - children 60 and adults 75

Lateral Thoracic

A

Cassette - 35x43

Pt Positioning - genie pose and if scoliosis put the convex against bucky

Immobilisation - comfortable against bucky and suspended inspiration

Safety - gonad shielding

Marker - anterior to anatomy

SID - 100

CR - T6-T7

Tube Tilt - 0

Collimation -approx 15cm wide and avoiding breast. S-I place ontop of shoulders and collimate slightly less than the height of the image plate

kV - children 60 and adults 75

AP Oblique Ribs - Posterior Ribs

A

Cassette - 35x45 vertical

Pt Positioning - back towards bucky and rotates 45 towards bucky, raised arm above head

Immobilisation - neutral stance. breathing, suspended inspration for upper ribs and suspended expiration for lower ribs

Safety -gonad shielding

Marker - lateral to anatomy

SID - 100

CR - T6-T7

Tube Tilt - 0

Collimation -area of interest for S-I and M-L

kV - children 60 and adults 75 uppers and 85 lowers

  • Pt Positioning - face towards bucky and rotates 45 awaybucky, raised arm above head
  • Immobilisation - neutral stance. breathing, suspended inspration for upper ribs and suspended expiration for lower ribs
