AP Ankle
A
- Cassette - 24x30, horizontal, divided in half
- Positioning - pt is sitting or laying with leg extended and foot at 90 dorsiflexion
- Stabilization - pt is lying or seated comfortably, sponge can be used to stablize.
- Shielding - Gonad shielding
- Instructions - Do not force dorsiflexion if not possible
- SID - 100cm
- Central Ray - Perpendicular to image plate and centred between malleoli
- Tube Tilt - 0
- Collimation - A-P, all the soft tissues of the foot. S-I, include the proximal metatarsals and distal tibia and fibula
- kV - Children 60 and adults 70
- Marker Placement - lateral to the anatomy

Q
Mortise Ankle
A
- Cassette - 24x30, horizontal, divided in half
- Positioning - pt is sitting or laying with leg extended and foot dorsiflexed and leg is internally rotated 15-20 until intermalleolar line is parallel to IR
- Collimation - M-L, all the soft tissues of the ankle and proximal metatarsals. S-I, include the proximal metatarsals and distal tibia and fibula
- kV - Children 60 and adults 70

Q
Lateral Ankle
A
- Cassette - 24x30, vertical or horizontal
- Positioning - sit or lay comfortably on the floor with foot dorsiflexed and lateral side of the foot against the cassette so that malleoli are superimposed.
- Stabilization - seated or lying comfortably
- Shielding - Gonad shielding/lead apron
- Instructions - ensure malleoli are superimposed
- SID - 100cm
- Central Ray - perpendicular to the image plate, at the level of the ankle joint
- Tube Tilt - 0
- Collimation - A-P, include soft tissues of the ankle and proximal metatarsals. S-I, include the soft tissues of the heel and distal tibia and fibula
- kV - Children 60 and adults 70
- Marker Placement - anterior to the anatomy
