Bilateral AC Joints

(with or without weights)

A
  • Cassette - 18x43cm or 35x43, two shots needed if patient is too broad
  • Positioning - Pt is standing with back against bucky and sternal notch is centre of image plate
  • Stabilization - pt standing comfortably
  • Shielding - Gonad shielding/lead apron
  • Instructions - pmust be done bilaterally with non-weight bearing then comparative to weight bearing. Do not force if the patient is uncomfortable
  • SID - 100cm
  • Central Ray - perpendicular oo image plate and centred to sternal notch
  • Tube Tilt - 0 for AP and up to 20 for cephalic angle for non-weight bearing
  • Collimation - M-L, both AC joints. S-I, to include superior and inferior borders of clavicle
  • Marker Placement - lateral to the anatomy
  • Kv- Children 50 and Adults 65
