Malls, where they have a symbiotic relationship

-places where you spend time (shown by higher ceilings, decorative lighting, stadium style seating, fancy seats and the addition of boutiques and coffee bars)
-making it a social experience
What do deluxe theaters have?
luxury sofas, side tables, seat warmers, high quality food and drink services

How are theaters trying to get people to come out to theaters instead of watching from home?
They’re focusing on the quality of experience
-smaller theaters, not building megaplexes
How have modern studios changed?
-used to produce films, now they finance and distribute them
-production done by many independent contractors brought together (e.g. one feeds, one does set design, one does clothing)
