-newspaper reading is focused, so looking at ads was a focused activity
-now, the young miss ads in newspapers
Magazines
-specialized so give advertisers narrowly defined target audiences
-magazines have a longer shelf life and are passed to other people
-higher quality so provide for higher quality ads
Radio
-traditionally been a supplementary media by advertisers who relied more heavily on newspapers or tv
-radio is inexpensive, and has repeated play to drive home a message but not great if you need people to see a product
-downside is that people often tune out radio ads
TV
-TV has been considered best medium for advertisers
-main drawback is that it is expensive
Internet
-good for specialization
-low cost
-allows for geographically targeted ads
