Tiki Warrior (war is bitter? Is that the motto?)
1/2 oz orgeat
1/2 oz lime
1/2 oz pineapple
1/2 oz Campari
1 1/2 oz gin
Shake and strain into shorter tiki mug. Garnish with whatever.
We’re obviously going for a tiki negroni here and people should be warned that it’s that style of drink because the Campari and the gin really do come through. Some suggestions: using lemon is totally compatible with some tiki cocktails and lemon goes better with gin than does lime. If you wanted it to objectively taste better, try increasing the orgeat and maybe increasing the lime or lemon. It might be good to replace the lime and orgeat or maybe just the lime with citrus cordial. We could take a page from the Saturn cocktail and split the orgeat with falernum and the lemon or lime juice with passion fruit syrup. Passion fruit goes better with gin than does lime as well. Still, it’s not a bad cocktail as it is.
There is a cocktail online almost identical to this. The only difference is that the pineapple is increased by an entire ounce. It’s on emilyfabulous.com and it’s just called “Gin Tiki Cocktail”. Coincidence? Anyway, let’s try that one against this one. Ok. I did. As we knew it would, it’s superior with the increase in pineapple and both the Campari and the gin still come through just fine. Even if we just increase the pineapple to 1 oz, it would be an improvement. But if what you’re going for is the gin tiki equivalent to a Negroni, stick with the current recipe.
Mai Tai
1/4 oz demerara
1/2 oz orgeat
3/4 oz lime
1 oz Plantation 3 Star
1 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and double strain into a rocks glass over crushed ice. Lime wheel and mint sprig garnish.
Jungle Bird
1/2 oz demerara
1/2 oz lime
1 1/2 oz pineapple juice
3/4 oz Campari
1 1/2 oz Cruzan Black Strap
Shake and strain into small tiki mug over ice. Pineapple leaf garnish and fruit.
3 Dots and a Dash
1/2 oz honey syrup
1 oz lime
1/4 oz allspice dram
1/2 oz Falernum
1/2 oz Dry Curaçao
1 oz Neisson Rhum Agricole
1 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and strain into tiki mug or rocks glass over crushed ice. 3 cherry bar pick
Tradewinds
1 oz lemon juice
1 1/2 oz coconut cream
1 oz Giffard Apricot
1 oz Neisson Rhum Agricole
1 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and strain into big tiki mug glass over crushed ice. Garnish with whatever.
Painkiller
1/2 oz lemon juice
1 oz orange juice
4 oz pineapple juice
1 oz coconut cream
2 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and strain into big tiki mug over ice. Garnish with fresh grated nutmeg and some fun stuff.
Night-Cap
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz creme de cacao
3/4 oz E&J brandy
3/4 oz Gordon’s Gin
Shake and strian into a coupe or Nick n Nora. Garnish with a mint leaf float.
Fish House Punch
1/2 oz simple
1/4 oz lime
1/2 oz lemon
3/4 oz Giffard Peach
3/4 oz E&J brandy
3/4 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and strain into short tiki mug or rocks glass over ice. Garnish with fresh nutmeg.
PIna Colada
1/2 oz lime juice
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz coconut cream
2 oz Plantation 3 Star
Shake and strain into bamboo glass over crushed ice. Umbrella garnish.
The Revivalist
1/4 oz honey syrup
1/2 oz lemon
3/4 oz pineapple
1/4 oz Pernod
1 oz Trader Vic’s nut liqueur
1 oz Plantation Dark
Shake and fine strain into tiki mug over crushed ice. Garnish to your heart’s content.

1/2 oz Hellfire Bitters
3/4 oz Giffard Pamplemousse
2 oz JM Rhum Gold
Shake and fine strain into coconut or pineapple tiki mug over crushed ice. Garnish with….hellfire bitters?
