Telemachus and Athena arrive at pylos and witness a ceremony to Poseidon, telemachus feels awkward and embarrassed by his youth and inexperience
King Nestor quickly warms up to telemachus as he reminds him of Odysseus
Telemachus gradually learns how to accept himself as heir to a great king and takes action in fitting the part
Nestor talks about the past and agamemmnons murder but has little to say about Odysseus
Nestor then suggests that telemachus and his son Pisistratus go to Sparta to speak to Menelaus and try and find Odysseus.
Nestor aids them with horses on their journey to Sparta
