Hermes escorts suitors souls to hades and agammemnon surprised to see such a large number of souls, he asks amphimedon who gives account of his death and blames Penelope. Agammemnon praises Odysseus and Penelope.
Odysseus lies to laertes and the Ithacan council hear of the suitors deaths. Laertes, Odysseus and Telemachus start a fight and Athena intervenes making them forget the deaths.
