Summary:
A
Odysseus arrives at the swineherds home and is nearly attacked by dogs.
Eumaeus shows up and welcomes him to his hut he then talks about the history of the land and Odysseus, disguised as a beggar, tries to tell eumaeus Odysseus isn’t dead and will return. The swine herd doesn’t believe him and Odysseus makes up a story about being a commoner who went through many of the same trials as Odysseus.
His story about Odysseus returning gives eumaeus hope and he brings Odysseus food and treats him saying ‘how Odysseus would have wanted him to be’
