The Aztecs
Agriculturalists. Central Mexico. Language Nahuatl. Stratified society. Worshipped multiple gods. Written books called codices, poetry, drama, ceramics, pyramids, body ornaments, palaces.
Who were the Maya’s?
Agricultural. Lived in Honduras Guatemala and El Salvador. Hieroglyphic writing system. Sophisticated mathematics, knowledge of astronomy, urban centers, temples, palaces, stepped pyramids, carvings and reliefs, ceramics and murals, ritual ball courts and a calendar system.
The Incas
The largest pre-Colimbian empire. From Peru, grew to incorporate parts of Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, chile, and Columbia. Language, Quechua. Polytheists, main god a sun god. King was considered child of sun god. Ceramic, gold and silver, and metallurgy. Surgery, terrace agriculture.
