Impact of physical geography
Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea.
Scarcity of good agricultural land in northern Greece, so many fished and used boats.
Much of Greece was rocky and barren so may lived by the coasts which was good for agriculture.
In the southern mainland it was different - had adequate agriculture and farmland.
Artistic forms
Made their own clothes (tunics and cloaks) made of linen or wool. Dyed clothing colors or bleached white.
Made jewelry such as hairpins, rings, and earrings.
Made and wore perfumes.
Styled their hair.
Made toys: rattles, yo-yos, clay animals, horses on 4 wheels, dolls.
Traditions (religious beliefs)
Had wedding ceremonies. Had funerals. Had religious festivals. Polytheistic. Had rituals when children were born. Writings: Oepus. Education: Plato, Aristotle.
Trade and commerce
Slaves were very important.
Slaves cleaned, cooked, worked in the fields, factories, shops, in the mines, and on ships.
Traded goods.
