Q

What function does the bundles of his have ?

A

Send the impulse from the AV node to the purkinje fibers

17
Q

Where are the purkinje fibers located?

A

endocardium , walls of ventricles

18
Q

Explain what is meant by the terms diastole and systole ?

A

Diastole - When the heart relaxes

Systole - When the heart contacts

19
Q

How is blood pressure within the body regulated ?

A

The medulla oblongata controls the heart rate + blood pressure.

Detectors within the blood vessels measure BP .

If there is a drop in BP or an increase in C02 occurs the heart is stimulated to increase cardiac output.

BP is increased or decreased by changing the diameter of blood vessels
