One strength is that modern psychology can be scientific. Psychology has the same aims as the natural sciences. The cognitive, biological approach rely on scientific lab studies to investigate in an unbiased way. This is a strength because it shows that psychology has establishes itself as a scientific discipline.

Not all approaches use science and reliable measures. For example humanistic approach rejects science and focuses on individual and subjective experiences. Human research also means there’s demand characteristic. This is a weakness because scientific approach can’t be always used or possible.
