Q

What side is the aorta on?

A

left

19
Q

Describe the process of blood flow through the heart

A
  1. Deoxygenated blood enters the vena cava and into the right atrium
  2. The right ventricle pumps deoxygenated blood out through the pulmonary artery to the lungs
  3. Oxygenated blood enters through the pulmonary vein and is pushed into the left ventricle by the left atrium
  4. The left ventricle pushes oxygenated blood out through the aorta and around the body
20
Q

What is blood pressure?

A

The amount of work that the heart has to do to pump blood through the arteries

21
Q

What is a healthy blood pressure?

A

120/80mmHg

22
Q

What can high blood pressure cause?

A

-Strokes
-Heart attack
-Heart failure
-Vision loss
