What is unconscious bias and how would you manage this?
Unconscious bias influences your decisions based on characteristic. You avoid this by taking time with decisions, aware that it may occur and provide justification on decisions.
What is the legislation to protect people who are diverse?
The Equality Act 2010- protecting rights of individuals and advance equality for everyone.
What are the protected characteristics of the equality act?
The protected characteristics are: age, marriage, disability, gender assignment, sex, religion, sexual orientation, pregnancy.
How would you manage with racism in a workplace?
I would support the person discriminated and raised the issue with human resources.
How does our RICS support diversity?
They have a diverse team and also show the equality mark signifying diversity.
