TD 29 Flashcards

1
Q

Describe the purpose and how to do a hover power check

A
  1. Determine whether aircraft weight exceeds maximum allowable gross weight.
  2. A Verify aircraft gross weight.
  3. Determine sufficient power is available to perform the mission.
  4. Bring the aircraft to a 3 foot hover
  5. Compare the actual torque to the predicted hover power torque and check indications

Q

Describe how to do a fuel consumption check

A

a. Initiate an in-flight fuel consumption check within 10 minutes after leveling off or within 10 minutes of entering into the mission profile.
b. Compute the fuel consumption rate ±50 pounds per hour and complete the fuel check within 15 to 30 minutes after taking the initial readings.
c. Monitor the remaining fuel quantity and the continuing rate of consumption.
