TD 22 Flashcards
[HOGE Fly Away] Upon detection of an engine failure while at an OGE hover, the P* will adjust the _____ to maintain ____ and immediately ____ RPM to - ____ and simultaneously apply forward cyclic to achieve ____ KIAS, then adjust aircraft attitude to continue acceleration to ____ KIAS while maintaining ____ power (___ FLI without the training collar installed). At ___ feet AGL and/or when the obstacles are ____, adjust aircraft attitude to attain ___ KIAS and adjust collective to maintain _____ or below.
collective as required, rotor within limits, trim the rotor, max, 30, 45, OEI 2.5 min, 12, 200, cleared, 65, OEI MCP
Single engine failure - hover OGE
Procedure
1. Collective lever –
2. Airspeed –
FORCED LANDING
- Landing attitude –
- Collective lever –
After landing:
- Affected engine –
- Single engine emergency shutdown –
TRANSITION TO OEI - FLIGHT
- Collective lever –
- Rotor speed –
- Airspeed –
After reaching safe altitude:
- Collective lever –
- Affected engine –
- Single engine emergency shutdown –
- LAND AS SOON AS
Single engine failure - hover OGE
Procedure
1. Collective lever – Adjust to maintain rotor RPM
2. Airspeed – Increase if possible
FORCED LANDING
3. Landing attitude – Establish
4. Collective lever – Raise as necessary to stop
descent and cushion landing
After landing:
5. Affected engine – Identify
6. Single engine emergency shutdown – Perform
TRANSITION TO OEI - FLIGHT
- Collective lever – Adjust to OEI-limits or below
- Rotor speed – Trim to maximum
- Airspeed – Gain, 65 KIAS (VY)
After reaching safe altitude:
- Collective lever – Reduce to OEI MCP or below
- Affected engine – Identify
- Single engine emergency shutdown – Perform
- LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
HOVER PERFORMANCE/HEIGHT LOSS AFTER ENGINE FAILURE
2.5 MIN POWER RATING After single engine failure:

The VARTOMS will automatically switch to MAN-mode and the VAR NR caution will come on in the event of:
a.
b.
If the VARTOMS is not operated in the MAN-mode and
a. engine failure
b. a torque split of 15%
