• determine any immediate fitness for duty concerns
• discuss concerns with member
• encourage member to seek assistance
• follow up if required
• provide heightened monitoring and management

When it is determined that a member is unfit for duty what shall be done -

 ensure the member is given immediate medical treatment, if required
 commence an immediate investigation
 initiate the appropriate action depending on the circumstances (e.g. documentation, charges, suspension, etc.)
