How long are audio/video recordings kept by the service
All audio/video records, regardless of classification, are retained for a minimum of one (1) year.
What position must the ICCS camera be in at all times
Cameras shall be maintained in the home position except in circumstances where it is necessary to modify their position to record a specific event
When must the ICCS microphone be worn
Members must wear the ICCS microphone at all times unless in a Service facility or courthouse
When must the ICCS be activated
all investigative contacts with members of the public initiated from an ICCS equipped vehicle
all vehicle pursuits
all prisoner transports
crimes in progress
crime and collision scenes until no additional benefit will be gained by further recording
any other situation or event where it is believed it would be beneficial to do so
When must an ICCS not be used
investigative discussions or enquiries between police personnel
situations that reveal police investigative techniques
attendance in a Service facility or courthouse
Whose duty is it to conduct reviews of recorded media on the ICCS
The supervisor
After a collision where the collision has caused the engine of the police vehicle to stop what shall a member do in relation to the ICCS
Not attempt to start the vehicle but may be able to access the ICCS if the service vehicle is still functioning
If ICCS footage is required for a criminal investigation how shall the video be requested
Through DVAMS
If a service vehicle is in a collision but the vehicle is still driveable, where shall the vehicle be taken
To the home unit for upload of the ICCS
Where a service vehicle is not driveable, where shall the vehicle be taken (in relation to the ICCS)
To the appropriate service facility for ICCS upload
Whose responsibility is it to classify an ICCS recording for retention purposes (where an event involved an audio/video recording on the ICCS)
The supervisory officer
Whose responsibility is it to ensure the ICCS footage is reviewed regularly
