One of small blood vessels within conjunctiva ruptures & releases blood into space between sclera and conjunctiva

A

Often appears after:

  • Strenuous activity
  • Eye trauma

  • patch of bright RED blood underneath conjunctiva & in front of sclera
  • Painless, vision not affected
