What is subchondral haemorrhage?
A
One of small blood vessels within conjunctiva ruptures & releases blood into space between sclera and conjunctiva

Cause of subchondral haemorrhage?
A
Often appears after:
- Strenuous activity
- Eye trauma

What conditions could a patient have if they present with subconjunctival haemorrhage?
A
HT Bleeding disorders Whooping cough Meds (warfarin, NOACs & antiplatelets) Non accidental injury

Presnetation of subconjunctival haemorrhage?
A
- patch of bright RED blood underneath conjunctiva & in front of sclera
- Painless, vision not affected

Diagnosis of subconjunctival haemorrhage?
A
Simple history and examination

Management of subconjunctival haemorrhage?
A
- Resolve spontaneously in approx 2 weeks
- Think about underlying causes
