Causes of orbital cellulitis?

A

Pre-septal cellulitis

  • Spread from periorbital structures
  • Often can occur post-operatively

Symptoms of orbital cellulitis?

A
  • Sudden onset of unilateral swelling of conjunctiva and lids
  • Proptosis
  • Pain on movement
  • Relative afferent pupillary defect
  • Fever
  • Severe malaise
