What is a storm Hydro Graph?
A graph used to measure a rivers flow and show the change in a rivers discharge over a short period of time after a storm
What is a rising limb?
The rising flood water in a river
What is peak discharge?
The highest point of discharge in a river flood
What is a recession limb?
Falling flood water in a river
What is base flow?
Normal discharge of a river
What is base flow?
The normal discharge of the river
Why do steep slopes contribute to having a steep flow hydrograph?
Steep slopes allow for more/quicker service run off as the water is able to run along the surface at a much faster velocity
Why do urban areas contribute to having a steep flow hydrograph?
Urban areas are built with impermeable rock in the ground which disallows the water to be absorbed and instead enables it to travel along the surface much faster
