Define society
an organised group of people associated for some specific purpose or with a shared common interest
Define socialisation
a lifelong process of process of members of a society learn its norms, values, ideas, practices and roles in order to take their place in society

the learning of values / attitudes that are incorporated within yourself

an alteration in the social order of society

a concept that refers to the way6 in which peoples thoughts, feelings, appearance and behaviours are regarded in social systems

the unfair situation where resources and/or opportunities are distributed unevenly within a society

a type of social inequality, where society is divided into different levels on the basis of a social characteristic e.g. health / status

organised pattern of social relationships and institutions that make up society

a term used to define social inequalities, i.e. certain groups have more access to wealth, income and power than other factors which contribute to social class; includes a person’s family background, income and education

a way of viewing society, emphasising active roles people have in shaping society.
Define interactionist approach
the study of how individuals behave within society, it is a theoretical process which stems from social processes
Define equality
the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, or opportunities
Define prejudice
to form an unfavourable opinion of an individual, often based on inadequate facts
