A

a model theory that suggests that attitude is made up of 3 aspects: cognitive, affective and behavioural

  • Cognitive is an individual’s values and beliefs
  • Affective is an individual’s feelings and emotional responses

How is attitude formed?

A
  • through socialisation
  • repeating and reinforcing the actions of our significant others forms attitude
  • conditioned by successful and reinforced behaviour
  • can be positive if good behaviour is reinforced but negative if bad behaviour is reinforced (e.g. cheating)
