  • Relieving stress and tension- distract us from problems and although they may not fix them chemicals releases during exercise ‘endorphins’ can make us feel better
  • Increasing self-esteem and confidence- as activities provide physical challenges and when we overcome the, it gives us a sense of achievement
  • For aesthetic appreciation- enjoying something because it is pleasing to look at

  • Developing friendships and mixing socially- you get to know more people who you develop lasting relation ships with
  • Develop co-operation- so you know how to get on with other people
