Gillet’s test - how to perform

A

Pt standing
Place thumb of hand under PSIS of limb to be tested
Place other thumb at center of sacrum at same level
Ask pt to flex hip and knee of side being tested
Assess mvmnt of PSIS - should move in inferior direction
Pos if no mvmnt of PSIS compared to sacrum

Stand at pt’s feet, palpating medial malleoli to assess symmetry
Have pt come into long sit position and once again assess leg length
Make comparison
Abnormal is reversal in limb lengths between supine and long sit
