Involve family members/school
If change in seizure phenotype - consider repeat EEG/imaging, consider child has outgrown medication dosing
What are triggers? Sleep hygiene etc.
Are the seizures compromising?
Any episodes prolonged?
Environmental optimisation - ensure not near objects could harm self with, no driving, no swimming unattended
Education on giving rescue medication, clear parameters and when to call 000
Written information - home, school, work
First aid course for carers
Discuss with Neurology / Epilepsy clinical nurse consultant
Consider family distance from hospital
