  1. No.1 informs the CAP and dispatcher

  3. PAX collects their belongings and is escorted back to the terminal
  4. CC check 3 rows in front and 3 rows behind - All PAX in these rows must identify their luggage
  5. CC confirm head count is correct
  6. No.1 informs CAP procedure is complete

Baggage identification/reconciliation procedure:

  1. Ground staff will remove bags from the hold and place them on the ramp
  2. When instructed by CAP, No.1 will ask the last 3 rows to disembark, identify their bags, and re-enter
  3. Once these PAX have boarded, the No.1 will ask the next 3 rows to follow this procedure
  4. Process continues until all PAX will checked in baggage have identified their luggage
  5. No.1 informs the CAP procedure is complete

  2. If there is no response the No.1 will enter the emergency access code + ENT (amber light will illuminate)
  3. If correct code is entered the FD will be alerted
  4. Flight crew will deny access to the FD and establish communication via interphone
  5. If the flight crew does not deny access the door will unlock after 30 seconds and remain unlocked for 5 seconds

Sterile search procedure:

A
  1. No.1 stands at the FWD and is the OBSERVER
  2. No.4 stands between the STERILE and UNSTERILE area and is the BARRIER
  3. No.2 and No.3 are the SEARCHERS
  4. Begin the search at the rear galley and toilets - bottom to top, left to right
  5. Move the last 3 rows of PAX and baggage to the FWD
  6. No.4 moves to row 30, while No.2 and No.3 search the area
  7. If nothing is found the area is now STERILE
  8. All baggage to be checked by the BARRIER before PAX return
  9. Repeat at every 3 rows
  10. Flight crew will search the FD
  11. Each CC searches another CC’s luggage
  12. Kept FD informed of findings

What is the procedure if a SUSPICIOUS object is found during a search:

A
  1. DO NOT TOUCH, ask PAX to identify it
  2. If not identified inform the No.1 and FD and treat as SUSPICIOUS
  3. Give a detailed description (size, colour, markings etc)
  4. If possible a photo should be taken and given to the FD - if not a diagram should be given
  5. If possible move PAX away from the area
  6. Await instructions from CAP
  7. Continue with the search

Preparation of the least risk bomb location:

  1. Disarm slide
  2. Remove safety equipment
  3. Empty 2 trolleys and lay them flat on the floor against the R2 door
  4. Pad the area with cushions and other soft materials to the height of the window
  5. Place object against the window
  6. Cover with a plastic bag to keep dry
  7. Cover with dampened material
  8. Continue to pad with cushions until it reaches the ceiling
    9 . Move last 6 rows of PAX
  9. Put 4 PAX in a row if necessary
  10. No.3 and No.2 sit behind the last row of PAX

  • Warn the FD: “A passenger demands to speak to the captain”
  • Obey orders
  • Only one CC to approach the hijacker
  • Close and lock bars
