What is meant by minimus?
Weather conditions restricting take-off and landing

Electronic Flight Bag
Electronic system replacing paper product in the cockpit. Can store data and perform calculations.
What is the LID? Who does it involve?
Load Information Document
Contains info on passenger and baggage numbers and locations.
Prepared by the handling agent and given to the pilot prior to departure.
What is meant by a loadsheet?
Document containing passenger numbers, weights, baggage etc. May be used in place of an electronic equivalent.
What does NOTOC mean? When is it used?
Notification to Captain
Used when transporting dangerous goods.
What is a POS?
Passenger Offload Statement
Must be filled in when an unruly passenger is offloaded.

International Civil Aviation Organisation
Provides regulations for aviation, covering:

Who are the IAA? What do they do?
Irish Aviation Authority
Government department overseeing operations in Ireland. Ensure Irish aviation complies with regulations set by, ICAO, IATA, EASA.
What is meant by FR?
IATA prefix for all Ryanair flights.
What is meant by a drill?
A sequence of actions which should be followed.
What is the OPS manual?
Governing document approved by IAA which sets out company policies and regulations.
What is meant by SOP?
Standard Operating Procedures
Actions carried out according to company policies (instructions for routine tasks).
What is meant by SEP?
Safety and Emergency Procedures
Instructions and drills implemented in non-normal situations.
What is meant by RERG?
Ryanair Emergency Response Guidance
Used when dangerous goods are identified in the cabin.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Life saving procedure when heart stops beating. Immediate CPR massively increases chance of survival.
What is bluetooth?
Wireless technology used to exchange data.
What is WIFI?
Protocol to create wireless network.

Passenger Ideal Guiding System
Path provided to guide passengers on board.
