Foundations of World History
It is important to study history to better have dominion over the Earth. God sent a great flood and Noah and his family was saved, along with two of every animal to replenish the earth. God changed the languages and scattered the people at Babel.
Early Civilizations
After God scattered the nations at the Tower of Babel, many of the descendants of Ham and Shem remained and settled in the fertile region of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Many civilizations popped up after Babel. God promised Abraham a great seed, a land for his seed, and that through his seed, God would bless all the peoples of the earth.
The Greek Civilizations
The Minoan and Mycenaean preceded the Greek civilization in the Aegean region. The polis, or “city-state” was the basic political unit of Greece. The Greeks were among the first to begin the formal study of human thought and culture called the humanities.
The Roman Republic
In 509 BC, the Roman monarchy was overthrown and replaced with the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic declined into a Dictatorship as a result of three civil wars.
The Roman Empire
The ancient world experienced a period of peace and prosperity known as the Pax Pomana. One of the most valuable and enduring of Rome’s achievements was her system of justice. With the onslaught of the barbarian invasion, the Western Roman Empire collapsed.
The Byzantine and Islamic Empires
In 330 the emperor Constantine formally dedicated a new capital for the Roman Empire; He called the city New Rome, but it became more widely known as Constantinople. Shortly after the Byzantine emperor Justinian died in 565, Muhammad was born in Arabia,the founder of Islam.
The Civilizations of Asia and Africa

☃The Mongol people arose in the north of China, in the land known today as Mongolia

The Making of Medieval Europe
Recognizing the unity of their faith, the early Christians described their church as Catholic, meaning “universal.” The most powerful of the Germanic peoples were the Franks. The manor was the home for the cast majority of people living in western Europe during the Middle Ages.
Princes and Popes
During the ninth century and the early part of the tenth, the Roman church sank deep in moral corruption. After the death of Charlemagne, his grandsons divided the Frankish empire. Those marked by a cross were called Crusaders, and their military campaigns to rescue the Holy Land became known as Crusades.
The Reshaping of Medieval Europe
During the early Middle Ages, trade activity had diminished in Europe. With the growth of towns during the eleventh and twelfth centuries, a new social class arose, commonly referred to the middle class. Nation-states emerged in the late Middle Ages as people in certain regions became more fully aware of their common traditions, language, and traditions, language, and religion.
The Renaissance
The Renaissance emphasized human individuality, ability, and dignity. The Renaissance began in Italy. The arts was a big part of the Renaissance.
