Scriber
Tool w sharp point to scratch shallow, thin lines into metal, timbers, plastics
Tailor’s chalk
Makes temporary marking on fabric which can be brushed off. Used for marking seam allowances
Engineer’s blue/layout stain
Used in metalwork to stain a metal object. This thin layer of dye can be scratched through to reveal bright outline. Can be removed after
Centre punch
Used to mark centre point of hole for drilling. Forms enough of dimple in metal to act as guide for drill, reducing slipping

Marker pens on polymers w protective film
Pencil can be removed from timber
Disappearing ink markers on fabrics
Polymers can be marked w chinagraph whcih is easily rubbed off
Pattern or tracing wheel
Used to transfer otuline of a sewing pattern onto fabric

Uses small pincto mark wood as tool is dragged along it

For transferring angular measurements onto workpiece
