SAMGs/SAG/EDMGs (RQ-C-4724) Flashcards
What is the difference between the scenarios under which DIS and H2 recombiners were designed to be utilized
- DIS is for beyond design basis
- H2 recombiners were sized for design basis accidents
Why is SG level the highest priority during the SAMGs
- SG level allows you to cool the core and prevent creep failures of SG tubes
When does the TSC assume control during SAMGs
- After they have performed SAG diagnostic steps and are ready to implement a strategy
Which SAG procedure is a direct entry and does not require the diagnostic steps to be performed
- SAG-10 (SFP)
What task is assigned to the most experienced/senior AEO during SAMGs
- Reset and startup of both units TDAFP
What tasks are covered by EDM-001
- Assume command and control
- Trip the reactor locally, start TDAFPs, damage assessment
What tasks are covered by EDM-002
- Use fire water as secondary heat sink, flood containment, or add water to RWST
- Depressurization of SGs and starting of DIS from EDG room
What tasks are covered by EDM-003
- Used to prioritize strategies by the EOF
When are SAMGs used vs EDM
- SAMGs are for when the core is already damaged
- EDMs are used for post 9/11 or other extensive damage to site
Does the Main Generator need to be tripped for deluge to automatically actuate
- YES
Does the UAT need to be tripped for deluge to automatically actuate
- NO
