When to Use:
Intro
A large number of sprinklered properties are not being tested regularly which can lead to system impairments which means that the system could fail to function if there is a fire. In fact, 7% of sprinklered properties that we tested had no water at all due to blockage. Furthermore, sprinklered properties that do not have credible testing data are rated as non-sprinklered which means that the insurance carrier would not be able to give sprinkler credit which can be a substantial impact to the property premium. As an insurance agent, you have a great opportunity to help your clients with these matters along with Travelers’ help.
What
In order to ensure that your clients’ sprinkler system is always functional and ready to fight fires, Travelers Risk Control will train facilities maintenance staff on how to conduct quarterly and / or annual testing of the sprinkler system (can be done in person or virtually). In addition, we have documentation inspections checklists to make certain that the responsible individuals are conducting the testing and that you have this information available for anyone who might need it.
What’s In It For Me?
As an agent, you will be seen as a trusted advisor because so many clients are not taking care of this properly. For the client, there is less business interruption and smaller claims in case there are fires.
The Ask
Will you work to identify if you have clients or prospects that may be deficient in this area and might need your help? This would be a great opportunity to leverage Travelers resources and partnership to bring in new business and to make a continued difference for your renewals.
