INDICATION FOR AN EGG FREE DIET:
- An egg-free diet is designed for individuals with an egg allergy.
- The diet is the same as the normal diet with the omission of eggs and foods containing eggs.
PURPOSE OF AN EGG FREE DIET:
• Prevent life-threatening consequences of lactose ingestion
DISCUSS THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EGG FREE DIET
Eggs are often found in processed foods such as baked goods, noodles, soups and sauces. It is important to avoid all types of eggs such as chicken, duck, goose etc. Sometimes products with glazes do not have the ingredients of the glaze listed. Food labels must be read to avoid eggs.

Low-fat and non-fat milk, powdered milk and evaporated milk. Cheese, yoghurt and cottage cheese.

Any fresh, frozen or canned meats, poultry or fish.
Dry beans, nuts and peanut butter.

Hot bread and rolls made with eggs.
Commercially baked goods and egg-containing foods (i.e. pancakes, waffles and French toast).
