They help transport the air from the mouth to the alveoli and vice versa
What is the purpose of alveoli in this system?
Gas exchange happens in the alveoli. Gas exchange is when oxygen diffuses into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide diffuses into the alveoli to be breathed out
What’s is the purpose of the diaphragm?
To contract and relax the lungs to being air in and out
What is the purpose of the heart?
To pump oxygenated blood around the body
What is the purpose of the intercostal muscles?
They allow the rib cage to expand
