A
IVF (In vitro fertilisation) is one of several techniques available to help people with fertility problems to have a baby.

What happens during IVF?
A
During IVF, an egg is removed from the women’s ovaries and fertilized with sperm in a laboratory. The fertilized egg, called an embryo, is then returned to the women’s womb to grow and develop.

What are the disadvantages of IVF?

- The drugs used in IVF have some bad side effects.
- The chances of getting cancer are increased through IVF.
- The treatment is very expensive.
- There is only a 45% success rate for IVF.
