Diffusion is when particles move from a high concentration, down the concentration gradient, to a low concentration.

Osmosis is the movement of water through a partially permeable membrane from an area of high water concentration to an area of low water concentration.

A
Active transport is a movement across a membrane from a low to a high concentration against the concentration gradient

How does active transport happen?
A
A carrier protein pick up a particle from a low concentration and then moves it to a place of higher concentration.
