Q

Describe the gas exchange in the alveoli

A

Oxygen in the alveolus moves out into the blood.
The blood carries the oxygen to each and every living cell.
When the oxygen rich blood reaches a cell , the oxygen moves out of the blood and into the cell.
The cell wastes of respiration ( carbon dioxide + water) move out of the cell and into the blood.
This blood is then returned to the alveoli , where carbon dioxide and water move out of the blood and into the alveoli.
From the alveoli , the carbon dioxide and water vapour are breathed out by the lungs
