Q

What is meant by the term ‘ adaptation’ and give 3 examples

A

In order to compete successfully , animals and plants are adapted to their environment.

  • the dandelion’s root is adapted so that it can take water from a deeper level
  • hedgehogs are adapted to their environment by having spiked which prevent them from being eaten.
  • blackbirds have a shrill voice and that is an adaptation to its environment as it sings to mark out its territory
