What is locus of control?
the extent to which individuals believe they have control events in their lives
Individuals with a high internal LOC?
believe they can affect the outcomes of situations
Individuals with a high external LOC?
believe things turn out in a certain way regardless of their actions

makes individuals resistant to social pressure with those seeing themselves in control of a situation more likely to perceive themselves as having a free choice to conform/obey
