Reflection and Color Flashcards
What is a Light Ray?
A model for light used to describe all the effects of light at the scale of everyday experience.
What is Geometrical Optics?
The study of the behavior or light as a ray.
What is a Ray Diagram?
The tracing of the path of light in geometrical drawings.
What is Diffuse Reflection?
The reflection of light in random directions.
What is the Law of Reflection?
The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.
What is Virtual Image?
An image that forms at a location from which light rays appear to come but really don’t.
What is the Mirror that bulges out called?
A convex mirror, these compress images.
What is the Mirror that indents called?
Concave mirrors.
What is Real Image?
An image formed by light rays that actually come together at a specific location.
How do Radio Telescope Dishes work?
The dish reflects and focuses the radio waves or light into a reciever at the center of the dish.
How do objects have Color?
They don’t actually emit color, when all colors hit them only one is reflected and that is the color of the object. So a green flower would only reflect green light.
What are the three Additive Primary Colors?
Red, Green, and Blue.
What are the three Subtractive Primary Colors?
Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta.
