Diagnosis: 3yo, choking on food, persistent cough and wheezing despite treatment, NORMAL XRAY
A
Foreign body aspiration
normal CXR does not rule out because 30% of FB aspirations have normal imagining.

S&S of foreign body aspiration
A
- Young child
- Sudden cough after choking(food/ toy)
- Diminished breath shouts/ wheezing over affected lung field
- Not responsive to albuterol

Best next step for suspected foreign body aspiration
A
Bronchoscopy to confirm diagnosis and remove FB

Breath Holding spells
A
Occurs in children 6months to 5yrs. Present with cyanosis or pallor following physical or emotional distress.
