Age of DTaP doses
5 doses: 2mo 4mo 6mo 15-18mo 4-6yrs
Contraindications for DTaP vaccine
- Anaphylaxis following DTaP
- Unstable neurologic disorgers (infantile spasms, uncontrolled epilepsy)
- Encephalopathy following DTaP
Management of DTaP with contraindications
Diphtheria and Tetanus toxoids should be administer without pertussis
Sexier following DTaP
Triggered by fever or by pertussis vaccine component, rare, short (<5min) and self-limited.
Personal nor FHx of uncomplicated seizure following vaccine is NOT a contraindication. Benefit outweigh risk. Administer all doses.
