aka: migraine with aura involving the brainstem.
Vertigo Dysarthria Diplopia LOC Typically filled by severe occipital headache.

A
diffuse 3-Hz spike and wave pattern

Differentiating between seizure and syncope
A
Postictal state (confusion, sleepiness, etc) seen with seizure. one patient regains consciousness in syncope they are immediately at baseline.

A
Muscles stiffening Difficulty breathing (contraction chest wall muscles) Perioral cyanosis Tongue biting Urinary incontinence Preceding aura LOC& loss of postural tone
