Procedures Flashcards
ICAO guidance procedures
Procedures of Air Navigation Services
PANS - Aircraft Operation
- Flight procedures
- Construction of Visual and Instrument flight procedures
- Aircraft Operating procedures
Instrument procedures allow..
Allow aircraft to:
* approach, land and depart in lower than VMC conditions
How
they route aircraft along a carefuely defined track at tightly specified hights to the ground
these tracks and geographical areas have been tightly surveyed
fixed obstacles and terrains have been assessed
PAN OPS - Departure Procedure
Minimum obstacle clearance required
specifies the minimum altitudes to be at at various points along the departure to ensure safe clearance from obstacles.
considers beginning of runway till the you enter en-route
PAN Ops - Departure assume that..
- all engines are operating
- The procuedures refer to track (or bearing) and pilot must maintain track by making adjustments/corrections for wind
- International standard of Atmospheric conditions are assumed unless otherwise stated
PAN Ops - Departure assume that..
Basic assumptions
all engines are operating
The procuedures refer to track (or bearing) and pilot must maintain track by making adjustments/corrections for wind
International standard of Atmospheric conditions are assumed unless otherwise stated
Pan Ops Departure procedure takes into consideration
obstacle clearance
ATC requirements
class of airspace requirements
Noise abatement
Location of the navigation aids
2 ways IFR flight can depart
Standard Instrument Departure (SID)
Omnidirectional Departure
SID
Standard Instrument Departure
- **Published tack **and **elevation **profile
- Links the departure runway structure with the ATS route structure
- shows series of Radio navigation aids (NAVAids) and waypoints/offsets
- Shows altitudes at waypoints in the departure altitudes
The SID link is usually straight to reduce climb performance, but sometimes you have to climb one or 2 turns due to terrains
