Q

Part-FCL is split into 3 colours

A

BOG

B->Blue->Regulation->Hard Law/binding

O->Orange->AMC->soft law (Acceptable means of compliance)->non binding standards that have been adopted to establish compliance with ICAO regulation

G->Green->GM->soft law->General Guidance->non binding explanations, interpretations and instructions on how to implement

21
Q

Crediting flight time - student

A

Student pilot’s accumulated solo flights, dual flights and PIC flights are fully accredited towards the issuance of their license or of higher grade license

22
Q

Crediting flight time - co-pilot

A

The flight hours of a pilot acting acting as Co-pilot in an aircraft requiring a Co-pilot, are only 50% accredited towards the next higher license.

23
Q

Crediting flight time - co-pilot (performing pic duties)

A

The flight hours of a co-pilot performing PIC duties (under supervision of a PIC) are fully accredited towards the next higher license.

24
Q

PPL taught by?

A

**ATO **- Approved Training Authority

25
Q

Difference between revalidation and renewal of class rating

A

**Revalidation:
**Administrative action taken during the period of validity to allow the holder to continue to excercise the priviliges of the rating/certificate for a specified period of time upon fullfilment of specific requirements.

Renewal
Administrative action taken after the rating/certification validation period has lapsed
for the purpose of renewing the privileges for a specified period of time upon fullfilment of specific requirements.

26
Q

How to renew a SEP and MEP class rating

A

Complete refresher training at an ATO until deemed proficient to safely operate the class of airplane

complete proficiency check

27
Q

What is the difference between ‘Differences’ and ‘Familirization’

A

Both are types of training if you want to fly a different variant of airplanes in the same class.

Differences:
- acquisition of knowledge
- training on airplane or Training device.
*Must be logged in the pilot’s log book

**Familiarization: **
- acquisition of knowledge

28
Q

when do you do require “differences’ training?

A

7 features require diffence training

  1. Variable pitch propeller
  2. Rectractable undercarriage
  3. Turbo or super charged engine
  4. Tail wheel
  5. cabin pressure
  6. Electronic instrument flying
  7. Single lever power control
29
Q

High performance planes that require class trianing

A

These are:
- Single Engine Turbo
-Specific series of airplanes
-Single Pilot airplanes that have performance and navigation capabilities of Multi Pilot

30
Q

What’s a type rating? and how to get it?

A

You require a type rating if an aircraft type is not covered by class rating.

Need mandatory training, theortical knowledge exam and skill test.

Valid for 12 months and require revalidation:

31
Q

Revalidating a type rating

A

It’s valid for 12 months
1)In 3 the three months preceeding expiry date, need to pass profiency test in the aircraft type or in FSTD
2)1 hr sector route with examiner (can be the proficiency test) in FFS or aircraft type
3)10 hr route sectors (can be exempt for #2)

32
Q

Night rating for PPL can be done in what conditions?

A

VFR

33
Q

Define night?

A

period between sunsent and sunrise

or

time between end of civil evening twilight and the beginning of civil morning twilight

34
Q

A

1.Pre-elementary
2.elementary
3.Pre-operational
4.Operational
5.Extended
6.Expert

PE/E …. PO/O … EX/EX

36
Q

which language proficiency level is required to be endorsed on EASA license

A

Level 4. Operational

37
Q

What’s the logbook

A

Pilots record their flight details in a manner compliant with EASA guidance and competent authority

date/time, point of embarkation and destination, capacity in which the pilot operated in

38
Q

How does license get revoked

A

INNOF.
3. Obtaining license by faulsifying documents
2. Not following or not complying with requirement stated in Part-FCL
3. Intoxiction on drugs/alchol whilst excercising privileges of the license
4. Non compliant with operational requirements
5. fraudulent use of the license

39
Q

2 types of Ratings

A

Class rating
* For Single Pilot -> SEP
* Valid for 2 yrs from day skill test is passed

For single Pilot –> MEP
* Valid for 1 yrs from day skill test is passed

Type rating
* For Mult-crew aircraft
* larger and more complex than class rating
* Valid for 1 yrs from day skill test is passed
