he has a valid, in-dates medial certification
- student pilot can’t fly solo unless a medical certificate is issued and is valid
Medical licenses
**Class 1 MedCert **= for ATPL, MPL,CPL
Class 2 MedCert = for PPL
Class LAPL MedCert = for LAPL
Part med sets out requirements for
- Issuing, renewing and validating medical licenses for pilots and students
- cabin crew medicals
- certification of aero-medical examiners
- General medical practionaers and Occupational health medical practitioners
Medical certificate is issued, validated or renewed if:
- you provided complete medical history and results of previous tests done by your doctors to the AeMC/AME/GMP
- conducted all assessments by AeMC/AME/GMP and comply with the requirements of part med
Certificate = The examination has been completed as assessed as fit
Class 1
Class 1 - first assessment at AeMC
Renewal & validation by AeMC or AME
class 1 validity
Class 1 is valid for 12 months
Class 1 is valid for 6 months if:
* Fly single pilot commercial & Age reached 40yrs old
* reached 60 yrs old
when do you validate your license
45 days before it expires
if you do not validate it & it expires
You must ‘renew’ it before you fly
if **expired < 2 years **= routine renewal aeromedical examination
if expired > 2 yrs and < 5 yrs = renewal examination conducted after history of medical records are reviewed
if expired > 5 years = aeromedical exam requirements for initial issue apply
don’t fly if:
you have decreased medical fitness
unable to fly safely
take prescription/non-prescription durgs that affect safety of flight
receive medical treatment/ surgical procedure that affect safety of flight
see an AeME without undue delay
pregnant
need glasses for first time
undergone surgery significant injury,
been admitted to hospital/clinic
suffer from significant illness
using medicine regularly
medical certifical is issued based on
the date the medicall assessment is issued (date of the exam)
CLass 2 medical validity
60 months until 40 yrs old
24 months until 50 yrs old
12 months over 5 yrs old
